SCROLL DOWN

Lee Tucker

“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.” -Henri Cartier-Bresson

"'Hey, we need some photos, go shoot,' was all the instruction I received as a foreign thing was shoved into my hands.  Video I understood, we were friends.  Motion was the only way to see the world. This thing... this box with no life was not for me.  Boy, was I wrong." -Lee Tucker

The above statements perfectly describe Lee's entry into photography.  His career started in television, working mostly in sports and news and later evolved into producing media for the government.  But since that first photo shoot long ago he hasn't looked back.  Over 18 years and tens of thousands of frames later Lee's still honing his craft.

A photographer of the everyday, Lee captures the people, places, and things around him.  While he has a particular love affair with aircraft, cars, and motorcycles he also enjoys capturing the best in people.

Currently located outside Washington DC, Lee has traveled the world making photos as well as a variety of video and public relations projects.  He and his wife Raquel have two boys, ages three and six who remain his favorite subjects.

Places

Places

Oh, the places you'll go...

On and on you will hike and I know you'll hike far, and face up to your problems whatever they are.

You'll get mixed up, of course, as you already know. You'll get mixed up with many strange birds as you go. So be sure when you step. Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act. Just never forget to be dexterous and deft. And never mix up your right foot with your left.

And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and 3/4 percent guaranteed.)

-Dr. Seuss

Things

Things

I am not interested in shooting new things – I am interested to see things new.” -Ernst Haas
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” -Elliott Erwitt
